Dear Lamplighters Family:
2020 has been, to say the least, a year that has tested our ability to cope and adapt. Life has taken more than a few strange turns.
As we try to navigate this pandemic, Lamplighters has been looking for ways to continue bringing theater to you, as we have done for the last 80 plus years.
Long-time Lamplighter's contributor, O.P. Hadlock, has volunteered to direct and record James Steinberg, another familiar Lamplighters face, in a beautiful one-man show:
In this piece, one actor portrays every character in a small Jersey Shore town as he unravels the story of Leonard Pelkey, a fourteen-year-old boy who goes missing. The secrets of the townspeople are brought to life, and everyone is forced to examine the effects of one boy’s life on a fractured community.
The show was recorded in our theatre while observing COVID-19 guidelines and is presented by special arrangement with Dramatists Play Service, Inc., New York.
We will be streaming the show for two weekends, December 4-6, and December 11-13.
The ticket price is $15 per household, less than a regular single ticket. To purchase your ticket online, please click "Tickets".
When there, you click on the weekend that you would like to view the show. They will send you a link for you to use anytime over this weekend.
You may watch the show as many times as you like for up to 48 hours from the time you first start to watch. Start and stop as you need, but only on the same computer.
Tickets may be purchased on this special website only. Our usual ticket site (Arts People) will not be involved in this special production.
The ticket site is 100% secure.
You are part of our family, our community, and we treasure the support you have given over the years.
Please help us keep the arts alive and continuing
at Lamplighters, La Mesa!
We look forward to welcoming you and watching you enjoy a play at Lamplighters!
